Shepelwich Family

April showers bring May flowers. In Texas, that statement isn’t totally accurate, and those flowers last about 3 weeks until the humidity and heat destroys them. So its more like March/April showers bring-a-short-period-at-the-end-of-April-flowers. Whew.

I’m glad the Shepelwich family made the decision to do their family session in March. Even though that month can frequently be wet, it does have a chunk of beautiful weather days and this day was one of them.¬†Ashley, the mom, is my aunt’s niece (on the other side of my aunt’s family). You can definitely tell those two are related – they have numerous similarities in their facial features. And just like my aunt, Ashley is personable and sweet. At the time of this session I knew I was pregnant, but we hadn’t announced it outside of family yet. I say that because Ashley had two baby gear items I had been looking at…the infant carseat and the stroller. I didn’t want to sound like I was obviously pregnant yet, so I decided not to ask her how she liked them while we were doing photos – I ended up texting her a few weeks later. Their session was done at Arbor Hills Nature Preserve, and it screamed¬†“spring.” The outfits, the greenery, and the blossoming tree tied together perfectly. Not to mention that their children, Levi and Maci, are too cute for their own good. Maci’s smile alone is endearing, and Levi was a happy little camper the whole time. And we can’t forget the bow – classic southern girl signature accessory.
